Harlow Civic Society is running a Good Garden Award for attractive front gardens that enhance the appearance of our town.
Send us your nominations for well maintained attractive front gardens. We want to recognise their contribution to the town’s environment. We will provide an attractive certificate for award winners to display in a front window.
Email your nominations to contact@harlowcivicsociety.org.uk.
Keeping an attractive front garden not only gives pleasure to others as they pass by but adds to the biodiversity of the town by encouraging bees and butterflies, so necessary to the ecology of wildlife in urban environments, and the creation of places for amphibians, such as frogs, and small mammals, such as hedgehogs to thrive. Creating a softer landscape also helps with drainage and shade and breaks up the heating effects of concrete.
