The winners of the 2019 awards were announced were announced at a presentation event at Harlow Rugby Club on 13th October.

Attendees included the Chair and Vice-Chair of the Council, Councillors, Architects and Owners of the nominated buildings, Civic Society members and local residents.

Paul McLintic talked passionately about why the Awards were set-up to encourage high quality design for buildings in their settings and to engage residents in promoting high quality developments. Mary Parsons, Chair of the TCPA and Group Executive Director – Placemaking & Regeneration for Places for People (launch sponsor of the Awards) gave an excellent presentation on the history and development of Garden Towns highlighting that the Garden City Principles are part of the vision for the new developments under the Harlow and Gilston Garden Town.

Mark Cotton, member of the awards panel and Director of Architecture and Design Services, an awards sponsor, outlined the panel’s deliberations and complimented all the nominees on the quality of the candidates.

The architects/designers of the winners were presented with trophies by Stan Newens, Chair of the Civic Society.
