The Town Park and beyond. A walk
Saturday 22 June 2024
Our walk will start and finish at the entrance to The Greyhound car park in School Lane, starting at 10.30am. It is open to all comers and is free.
Note: you get 2 hours free parking on a Saturday, which might be cutting it fine! Also, the car park gets pretty full on a Saturday morning – Park runners – but empties fairly quickly after about 10.15am.
- The walk is approx 3.5 miles, taking in parts of the Town Park.
- The Zig Zag bridge over the railway.
- The Outdoor Pursuits centre.
- Pardon Mill arts centre.
- Numerous sculptures en route – 7
- St Mary’s Little Parndon
- See a plaque commemorating a slave who lived in Lt Parndon.
- Visit the “cold war” spies meeting place.
- Some Gibberd designed town houses.
- Observe a new pastime – at least for Harlow.
- Walk over all of the footbridges in Harlow – how many?
- Hopefully, be back in time for refreshment at Spurriers café in the park.
There is no booking required, but you can let us know you will be coming by emailing contact@harlowcivicsociety.org.uk.
